HP can now help you identify and remediate known security vulnerabilities on HP ProLiant servers [HP UK | English] (and other x86 servers) arising from mis-configured operating systems or missing patches, which could otherwise be exploited by viruses, worms and blended threats.

The HP ProLiant Essentials Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack [HP USA | English] is an all-in-one tool that plugs into HP Systems Insight Manager software [HP USA | English] to actively monitor servers, assess and identify known threats and the patches to repair these vulnerabilities.

Powered by HP Radia patch-management technology and vulnerability-scanning technology from Harris Corporation, this solution automatically gathers vulnerability data, enables scheduled scans, automates patch downloads, deploys patches and fixes, and provides assurance that patches remain installed on an ongoing basis.

Working together with HP Systems Insight Manager, it provides a single-pane status view – including information on hardware faults, system performance, system software and vulnerability status – to help identify and resolve system issues and vulnerabilities quickly, efficiently and reliably.

The HP ProtectTools Security Manager [HP USA | English] provides a single interface for existing and future HP ProtectTools client security solutions on selected HP business desktop and notebook PCs. The software application adds an easy-to-use console into the Microsoft® Windows® control panel, allowing you to easily access the full breadth of HP security capabilities to protect against unauthorised access to PCs, networks and business-critical data.
