HP's Client Foundation Suite [HP USA/English] offers IT managers a comprehensive solution for managing HP business desktops, notebooks, and workstations. This suite of tools provides simpler and faster recovery when information is accidentally deleted or a system becomes corrupted, and utilities for automatic deployment of security settings help reduce the chance of loss from security threats. Hardware health alerts (when a system is overheating, for example) let the user and IT administrator know something is wrong before a system fails, which minimizes downtime and data loss to begin with.
If a system does fail, key data is easy to recover because the Altiris Local Recovery PRO component of the suite takes periodic snapshots of both the system image and user data, then stores it on a hidden partition or even an external drive for easy recovery. This utility also keeps snapshots of open files while they are being used -- if an application fails and causes data loss, there is a backup copy to restore. |
